
Terra-Cotta Journey
History and archeology come alive in Xian. In the capital of Shaanxi Province in China's ancestral heartland, two hours flight to the southeast of Beijing, lies the starting point of the ancient Silk Road. Xian served as the seat of power to more than 11 different dynasties for centuries, including the Han and Tang, who built Imperial Palaces in the city. Xian, a UNESCO World Heritage site, became world famous in L974 when the first of the Terra-Cotta Warriors were discovered.
Day 1 Arrive in Beijing Arrive in Beijing, transfer to hotel. Tour Tiananmen Square, time permitting.
Trip to the Great Wall, which extends for over 2000 miles, and tour of the mysterious Ming Tomb. Overnight at hotel.
Fly to Xian, the ancient capital city of China. Upon arrival, transfer to hotel. In the afternoon, city tour with visits to the Big Wild Goose Pagoda and the City Wall.
Day 4 Tomb of the Emperor and Terra-Cotta Warriors
Tour the tomb of the Emperor Qin Shi, guarded by thousands of terra-cotta warriors and horses. Later, visit Bampo Neolithic Museum. ln the evening, enjoy an authentic Tang Dynasty dinner and a performance of traditional dances.
Fly back to Beijing and transfer to hotel. Leisure time in the afternoon. Peking Duck specialty dinner.
Day 6 Temple of Heaven and Summer Palace
Tour the Temple of Heaven and Summer Palace. Souvenir shopping.
Transfer to the airport for departure.
