Day 1-2 Arrival/Ulaanbaatar
Arive Ulaanbaatar and tour the city • Visit museums, Buddhist centers and enjoy a cultural performance.
Day 3 Ulaanbaatar/Bayan Olgii
Flight to Olgii • Transfer to Altai village on the crystal clear Chihertei river • On-site orientation.
Day 4-13 Trekking in the Altai Mountain Range
Trek in the spectacular beauty of the snow-capped Altai range • Trek through wild territory across green mountain pastures and spectacular passes • Explore the lifestyle of an Uriankhai family, an important ethnic minority of Mongolia • Observe many species of birds and mammals that make their homes in the Altai Mountains.
Day 14 Olgii Town
Leisure lime or reserve day for optional local Naadam festival • Visit local Kazakh families, who tame and train Golden Eagles for winter hunting • Enjoy Kazakh cultural performance • Tour the Ethnography Museum in Olgii town or small markets • Trek celebration dinner with Mongolian specialties.
Day 15-16 Ulaanbaatar/Departure
Fly to Ulaanbaatar and depart for home.
