Mongolia's breathtakingly fabulous landscape, well preserved cultural & natural heritage, unique history and friendly nomads make it one of the planet's largest tracts of untouched culture & wilderness.


Day 1 Ulaanbaatar
Arrive in Ulaanbaatar and transfer to hotel • Tour the Museum of Natural History with its splendid collection of Dinosaur exhibits • Evening motorcoach tour of Ulaanbaatar, including the War Memorial at Zaisan if time permits

Day 2-3 Bayangobi/Karakorum
Drive to Bayangobi sands and continue to Karakorum • Visit a horse-breeder's camp to see the making of airag (Mongolia's national drink of fermented mare's milk) and horseback riding on Mongolian wooden saddles • Visit Erdene Zuu, one of the largest monasteries in Mongolia, which was almost destroyed in the 1930s • Visit to the ruins of Karakorum, the 13th century capital of the Mongol Empire

Day 4-5 Karakorum/Amarbayasgalant
Breakfast at base camp • Drive to Amarbayasgalant Monastery • Tour the grounds of Amarbayasgalant, which was established in the early 17th century. This is the second largest and most important monastery in Mongolia.

Day 6 Amarbayasgalant/Ulaanbaatar
Drive to Ulaanbaatar • En route stop at Darhan, the second largest city in Mongolia • Brief tour of the city and visit to local museum • Arrive in Ulaanbaatar late afternoon.

Day 7 Ulaanbaatar
Continue exploration of Ulaanbaatar • Visit Gandan Monastery and enjoy the majestic view of the 20 ton statue of Migjid Jan-raiseg, adorned with gold and jewels • Tour the Fine Arts Museum then visit the Museum of National History • Evening cultural performance and gala dinner.

Day 8 Departure
Transfer to the airport or train station for departure.
